Professional golf at Gut Kaden

Winners & Records

Gut Kaden looks back on a long tradition of professional golf. Between 1992 and 2002, the course was a regular venue for the prestigious Deutsche Bank - SAP Open of the European Tour, where golfing greats such as Bernhard Langer, Colin Montgomerie and Lee Westwood competed. Westwood's course record of an impressive 63 strokes in 1998 is particularly memorable. International events such as the Honda Open, Players' Championship of Europe and later the Schüco Open also made Gut Kaden a permanent fixture of professional golf in Germany.

Course records & highlights

from Lee Westwood

Lee Westwood has had some special successes at Gut Kaden.

In 1998, he not only won the tournament for the first time, but also set a course record of 61 strokes, which stood until the overall length of the Championship Course was changed. In 2000, he repeated his tournament victory in a very strong field, including against Tiger Woods, with whom he fought a highly exciting neck-and-neck race over the first three days.

In 2006, he then achieved a record round of 63 on the first day with nine birdies in 18 holes, which remains unbeaten to this day.
